This is one of many I take when my daughter Kirsty can model for me... the thing with Kirsty is that she gets quite bored with it all and goes into a dream land! this however is good for my style of shots as they are just what I want.
Photo Critique SummarySubject of photo 8 Composition & Perspective 8 Focus 9 Use of camera, exposure & speed 8 Color & Lighting 8 Depth of field 7 General impression 8 Overall Rating 8.0 GuruShots ProSubject of photo:8 Lovely subject Composition & Perspective:8 Composition is good but I would not have cut off part of the head and maybe composed for a vertical rather than a horizontal Focus:9 Focus looks very good Use of camera, exposure & speed:8 The use of the camera is good there is really no exposure info in the description. Color & Lighting:8 Both look good Depth of field:7 If you are using a speed of 1200 I am assuming that it indicates the ISO speed which is really too high to create a proper depth of field here because you want a softness in a portrait where the eyes are the sharpest point and the rest is just a touch soft. General impression:8 I think you did a good job. How to improve your photo1. Try using window light to cut down on the harshness of the flash 2. Try composing as a vertical portrait for this particular pose or create a more casual pose for the horizontal view. 3. Try and have the subject turn her body a touch more to the left and have her tip her head ever so slightly toward the higher shoulder.
