I took this photograph at our old train station, my son's girlfriend was the model. I found the dress(vintage 20's) at an antique store.

Really. Nice expression and posing. Composition & Perspective:9 No space enough around the subject, especially above the head.
It's personnal, but I've would have put her slightly out of the frame.
The dress is great, but takes too much place in term of framing (don't forget the face, it's a protrait. And this model is really interesting) Focus:10 Blurry (halo ?) overall with few sharp points. Fits perfectly the mood. Use of camera, exposure & speed:10 Just right Color & Lighting:9 A little bit more contrast.
Make up color a bit stronger.
Put some lighting (or rework curves) around the hair. Seems the scarf is the border of the head. Depth of field:8 Yeah, but why hide the background ? General impression:9 Very lovely. Technically does the job very well.
I would have see it without the "old style wear" (front). The backgroud seemed interesting to work on. Can't see much of it, maybe the background alone would cut from the 20's atmosphere. To be tried.
I really like your pic anyway. Subtle and classy. How to improve your photo1. Drop the front effect and rework background light levels. Adjust slightly background color to fit the range (other "color" but same range) of the rest of the picture. 2. Subject too centered, and too close to the up frame. Maybe get closer, and put a bit of the model out of the frame. 3. Try to rework the whites shades so the lace is a bit more detailed. Get feedback on your photos from Pro Gilles Forestier | ||
