Very nice shot, tho a bit of a cliche', I myself have a similar shot from Italy and have seen dozens similar in galleries or posters.
Composition & Perspective:

Maybe a little too much foreground, it stops the eye from moving towards the distance.

Again I don't know if it was on auto or what but either way, it seems to have given a good exposure.

Lighting looks good, this is one of those shots that in my opinion may not work as well with "raking" light, it would distract from the simplicity.

It's a learning process and I think you did an good job, just keep a few of these things in mind.
How to improve your photo
1.
Here again, shoot from different zooms and heights and look at them later and decide which one works best, this is your own self teaching class, you will know which one "Works".
2.
Get used to using a tripod!
3.
Try burning the sky a little more and see if it might add a little more drama to it.
