In using the rule of thirds, I would place the ducks at the upper third point instead of the lower because they look like they are swimming off the image instead of into it.

How to improve your photo
1.
Use the simple Rule of Thirds composition style and have them in an area that draws your eyes into the image and not off the page.

If possible, drop your camera angle a little.
