I have held many solo exhibitions and have exhibited widely, from Glasgow to Beijing. I also have many years teaching experience and I always encourage my students to extend their boundaries and grow artistically as well as technically.
I am currently building a website which is centred around teaching photography tips and techniques, and photography history. My critiques are always kind yet constructive and aimed at getting you to see things in such a way that you easily translate that initial vision into a 2-dimensional work of art. Views: 2167 Photographer: lilan marshall Category: Outdoor Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A really lovely scene, but difficult to determine where the main subject is as it lacks any clearly defined central interest. Views: 2262 Photographer: Steve Harter Category: Travel Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling I really like this shot, in spite of some compositional flaws. The atmosphere is delightful and I'm putting Utila Island on my list of must-visits! I also like the mo... Views: 2371 Photographer: Steve Harter Category: Outdoor Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Great shot, love the simplicity of it. To be honest, I can't find very much wrong with it. Views: 1782 Photographer: Leonard Aschenbrand Category: Architectual Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Emotionally, your photograph works really well. Views: 1522 Photographer: katie cherrett Category: Nature Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A nice shot, it has a surprise element to which I really like. Views: 2001 Photographer: katie cherrett Category: Outdoor Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Atmospheric shot due to the creative use of black and white and vignetting. Views: 1479 Photographer: katie cherrett Category: Nature Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A pleasing shot but could be improved by the removal of distracting elements and better exposure and depth-of-field. Views: 1362 Photographer: katie cherrett Category: Nature Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling The shot had potential but lack of focussing, indeterminate depth-of-field and fuzziness caused by a slow shutter speed that was too slow have detracted from the imag... Views: 1477 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Nature Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling First impact is good but the general impression is of a shot that hasn't been well enough composed. The Rule of Thirds might have helped here - check Google for more ... Views: 1592 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Photojournalism Critiqued by: Anne Darling Lovely colours and rhythms give this shot really good visual interest. Views: 1453 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Architectual Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A pleasant shot, doesn't hold my attention for too long, but a simple, harmonious composition. Views: 1405 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Architectual Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling So-so - not mad about this shot - it's a nice building with some attractive details but needs more work to get a good shot. Views: 1391 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Architectual Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Actually quite fascinating even though I've criticised it somewhat for being cluttered. Views: 1632 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Architectual Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Quite a dramatic shot, good angle and well-combined compositional elements. Not sure about the colour of the sky though and would have liked to have seen the building... Views: 1466 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Documentry Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A good shot, nicely cropped, would work well as part of a series of photos as the object speaks volumes to the viewer about one aspect of the WTC tragedy. Views: 1560 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Documentry Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling General impression is captivating - this is an excellent shot. Views: 1293 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Documentry Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Much better than the previous version, nicely harmonious and better balanced - good job! Views: 1675 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: People Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling It's a nice candid shot - not quite street photography as there is no real story going on - I feel what's missing is a deeper connection with the man playing the saxo... Views: 1313 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Nature Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A nice still life shot with an abstract quality to it. Views: 1412 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Architectual Photography Camera: Select Critiqued by: Anne Darling It's an elegant shot - the new tower has a statuesque feel, like a monument, yet a fragility at the same time because of the way the light falls on it. Views: 1536 Photographer: Edward Teran Category: Travel Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling I find the cropping of the image a bit awkward - not quite square format. Views: 1622 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Still life Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling It's an agreeable and quirky shot - I actually like it the more I look at it! Views: 1351 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Architectual Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling I like this shot because of its bold composition and the fascinating tracery and lines of the branches echoed in the fountain - nice job! Views: 1296 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Nature Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling A nice shot, a bit spoilt by the white railings which detract and also the white down-pipe on the side of the house. Views: 1219 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Fine art Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling I feel a bit indifferent to this one - there are abstract qualities to it but I don't feel you've been able to use them to best effect. Views: 1714 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Fine art Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling I like the painterly feel to the window elements and the overall abstract quality of this shot. Views: 1645 Photographer: Lynn Sears Category: Fine art Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling Quite an intriguing shot (sorry, I keep using that word!) - definitely in the Fine Art category! Views: 1477 Photographer: Steven Hatton Category: Outdoor Photography Critiqued by: Anne Darling An attractive shot, well executed but I feel the composition could be better balanced. Overall I find it unexciting - it doesn't particularly stand out for me as a photograph.
